It Still Ain't Easy Long John Baldry
This is one of Baldry's best. It is rich and delightful. The cuts afford the listener the opportunity to hear Baldry's full range and power, and the true quality of the musicians behind him. The blend of the two gives the listener the sense that not only are Baldry and the musicians performing, but that they are truely feeling what they are presenting. This is quality blues.

This, his first Alligator album from 1995, updates several blues harmonica classics (Little Walter's "I Got to Go," Sonny Boy Willliamson's "After You," and a superb reading of Walter Horton's "Easy").

Live-Swampland Jam Tab Benoit
Guitarist Tab Benoit has carved a modest but noteworthy niche by pumping down-home blues and swampy Cajun riffs through an electric guitar and coming up with something beyond the Delta, but not quite embedded in the Chicago blues idiom. Although not a flashy or astounding guitar technician, Benoit takes a consistent, earnest approach to his music--both onstage and in the studio.

Angel Of Mercy
Rory Block
She's an excellent guitarist and interpreter. Many compare Block to Bonnie Raitt, which is true in that they're both women who play the blues. But Block seems perfectly comfortable staying underneath the pop radar screen, and most of her influences recorded in the 1920s and 1930s. A true blues artist.

I'm A Wild Man Napoleon 'Nappy' Brown
His voice is in good shape on the tongue-in-cheek swagger of uptempo blues such as the title track and the seductive purr of soul ballads such as "Sittin' in the Dark."

Buchanan's play is some what reminisent of Jeff Beck on this album as well. He playing is always controlled although often seems off the scale.
