What Static X had with their first album has some how been lost. Machine is worse than any B recordings that did not make the cut on their first very killer release. This is extremely evident in their live performance. I have seen Static X live 4 times and the last 2 times they were very lame. I have no idea why they would replace 2 key elements, an excellent guitar player and powerhouse drummer for a extremely lame guitar player and a drummer who can barely keep up. I am sure it is the record execs using their pull, this is what sells, forget about real energy or originality. I hope Wayne and Tony come to their senses and fire the record company and the 2 idiots they have playing guitar and drumming for them.

A genre-bending sonic onslaught, this disc is not for the faint-hearted. Static-X skillfully blend angry staccato guitar, dark metallic noise, and mutating synthesizer washes to construct an ominous wall of sound.

Slipknot's second major label debut is one of the most anticipated modern & extreme metal releases of the year & an important step foward for the band who exploded onto the heavy music scene in 1999, following their rare & independant mate, feed, kill, repeat album, with the brutal, complex & aggressive assault of their self titled LP. Iowa treads similar ground to the debut, though it is undoubtably heavier, faster & thrashier then the first album.

This CD will blow you away. When I listened to it the first time, I didn't get much interested in songs other than Sic and Me Inside. But, later, I realized that every song on this CD is absolutely amazing. I especially like Wait and Bleed which sounds so eerie that I never get tired of listening to it.

Rock on baby, WOOOO! Devil horns! Loud, heavy, massive crunching guitar jams with RAWK vocals and intense lyrics, it doesn't get any better than this.
Sell everything you own, give up all your worldly possessions, change your name and drop out of society to follow this band. It's more than a band, it's a cult. And it totally blows the lid off of anything I've heard this year.
